Founder's Plate 2022
Rochdale Artists celebrated another year with their annual Founder's Plate competition on Tuesday 13 December. The winner was Peter Barlass, with his drawing titled "Out of the Woods".
The competition was judged by local artist Lynne Thompson, who said that "the detail is amazing, and it has taken incredible patience to establish the composition, perspective and lights in the picture." The picture has been completed entirely in pencil and is of a scene near Burnley Way.
For the competition, Rochdale Artists members can submit one piece of work from the last 12 months and there was a wide range of artworks and mediums on display. The winner is presented with the Founder's Plate for the upcoming year.
